At the end of school plenty of kids are still socially maladjusted or lacking... Seems a few are harming others and themselves here and there... People scorning the question have already considered their indoctrinated viewpoint and evaluated the weighting of their responses, obviously... As long a home schooling doesn't include religious mind-fucking and is monitored... You need to be dedicated to it as much or more than the kid... and not just sit them in front of a computer to achieve it...

Ohgodno - Couldn't agree more on home schooling and home births. Fucking irresponsible, home births should be banned and as for some who actually want to eat the placenta!! Anybody wanting to home school should be thoroughly checked by social services and ask the parents just how they are going to ensure their kids will get 5 decent passes at GCSE!

It's hardly following the crowd.Kids going to school to gain their education works all over the world.
If you disagree that's you're decision sounds like you've already made you're mind up.
Young people that gain degrees don't tend to spend the rest of their days working in burger bars.

Same here. Why follow the crowd with lots of qualifications going for interviews with 100s going.
Getting into debt going to uni where people with degrees working in McDonald's.
But that's how I view things anyway.

School is good for social learning. Being around others. Friend, foe and indifferent. Different genders, religions, colours and creeds.
Developing routine, discepline, team building etc to aid transition Into work
Wide range of skills that should transition to many different areas of life / work
Oh yeah and proper education to pass those pesky GCSE things that employers want

As long as you are dedicated to making sure he learns then it shouldn’t be a problem. The yanks have lots of online programs to support this kind of thing. I imagine something like the IB has the same.
Mine both seem to really enjoy school but weirdly given my own lean in that direction I couldn’t give a fuck how they do academically. I just want them to be happy.

It's me who dosent want him going back to be fair. Hate the way school takes the creativity out of them and replaces it with stuff they don't need to know. Lucky enough I know quite a few teachers who are good friends and i can afford to turn it into a travelling adventure De-schooling him and teaching him what he needs to know.
We both travel a lot and have similar interests . And it was my idea not his.
I can see us living up I the Scottish highlands soon away from it all. Have season tickets at Inverness Caley.
